Rare. First discovered in a forested valley near Sibundoy on the eastern slopes of the Andes in southern Colombia at an elevation of 2500 meters. Later discovered in Ecuador on the western slopes of the Andes at 1900 meters.

Long tails measure 12-14 cm in length.
